Rules ----- _General_ Paragons are mortals that have chosen to continue to play rather than becoming wizards. Their rewards for doing so is small; the option exist by demand only. It is possible that rewards will be added later on; if so it will be done after much thinking about game balance and other effects. _Becoming_a_Wizard_ Paragons can later on give up their mortal (and paragon) status and become wizards. This will require the attention of someone in the admin. _Creations_for_the_Paragons_ In general, no code should be created for the Paragons as a special group. Especially, there must not be created equipment only usable by the Paragons or areas that only Paragons can enter. _Accepted_exceptions_ Here is a short list of things that could be ok to create for Paragons: + Flashy texts. You could have a monster that greats a Paragon with a humble bow, and kicks normal players, or the other way around. + Guild titles. The guilds are allowed special titles for the Paragons, if they want them. + Feelings. It is possible that a few extra feelings could be added to the soul for the Paragons only. _Creations_against_the_Paragons_ No code should be made to not work for a player just because that player is a Paragon. You might still block high level players from using your creations. Comments -------- The Paragon system was designed to allow people to continue as mortals rather than forcing them to become wizards against their will. On the other hand, a Paragon will not be allowed to become a wizard later on. Thus, there is a choice to be made. The system was also designed to have a low impact on game balance. The Paragons powers will rather be their knowledge of the game than lots of extra HP, SP and powers like two-weapon combonations and such. Consider what would happen if they had that: 1/ Areas designed for normal mortals (all old areas) would easily be run over by the Paragons, leaving nothing for the normal players. The Paragons would, in contrast, have lots of easy equipment and money. 2/ Areas designed for the Paragons would be created. Those would be impossible to use by the normal players, making them second-rate players and splitting the game in two. 3/ Old areas will, if they have active maintainers, be re-coded to cope with the Paragons; thus depleting the game for the normal players. This will make less people making it to the Paragon levels, thus making the game less populated and in the end making it a stagnant backwater. You don't believe in the above? Let us ensure you that it is not a creation of pure fantasy and imagination; there are actually MUD's out there where this happens.
