INFO application DESCRIPTION It is now possible for a mortal to apply for wizardhood, rather than playing his way up through the ranks and quests. Perhaps the application process outlined below is as harsh as playing all the way up; perhaps it is not. Read this through, and spend some time thinking about it. REQUIREMENTS 1/ Understand that if your application is accepted, you have 3 months in which to get an open area of at least 25 high quality locations going, or good code to be used in the mudlib. If you fail, for any reason, your characters will be erased and you will have to start over from scratch. 2/ You must have reached level 15 as a normal mortal. This is to ensure that you are familiar with the game and the special feeling of NannyMUD. 3/ You must have coding skills. This is to ensure that you will be able to learn the special language the game is created in, LPC, within reasonable time. 4/ You must have a valid email address to which the NannyMUD Admin can direct questions and comments. 5/ The application must be written in English and sent to someone in the administation or nannymud@lysator.liu.se. 6/ Write an application with no less than 2500 words. The only piece of personal data we require is the one in point 4/ above. We will of course be curious about you, but you are free not to reveal any personal details. If you do, they will be treated with courtesy and discretion. Things we would like to know includes: + Your coding experience. + Operating systems you are familiar with. + Programming languages you know. + Your experience of MUDs. + Your view on wizard/player interaction. + Your view on game balance. + The general style of your area. Other possible things to cover could be: + Other MUDs where you have been, or still are, a creator. + The status of those MUDs. + If you plan to continue to create on them. + If you have left them, we would like to know why. + Positions of power you hold in other MUDs, and your plan with those. + Roleplaying experience. + Your favourite books. End your application with a short summary about why you think we should grant you a wizardhood. PROCESSING Read the application through, let it be a few days, read it again. This will help you see weaknesses and errors. Then contact someone in the Admin, and send the application using email. The applications will be handled at an RL admin meeting. There are just two verdicts: accepted and rejected. If an application has been rejected, you may still play your way up to wizardhood, but you may not make any further applications.
