TRS-80 (1977 - ?)

The TRS-80 Model I came out in 1977 and was a rather primitive computer, based on the Z80 CPU.

The TRS-80 Model II was released in 1979 and was a large, expensive business model with 32 or 64K of RAM and a Z80 CPU.

The TRS-80 Model III was released in 1980 and also had a Z80 CPU. Software written for the Model I could be ported to the Model III with little effort, although going the other way was more difficult.

The TRS-80 Model 4 was basically the same computer as the Model III, although it had an option for 128K RAM and a few more advanced features. It would run Model III software with no problems. It was released in 1982 or 1983.

There were also a Model 12 (released in 1983) and a Model 16. Both these were dual-processor machines, having both a Z80 and a 68000.
