The lake in the middle of this map is Roxen. Into Roxen from the south, through the city Linköping, flows the river Stång, which divides the province Östergötland into västanstång (west of Stång) and östanstång (east of Stång).
Into lake Roxen from the west, through Ljungsbro, flows Motala Ström and Göta Kanal.
Euroroute E4 passes from east (Stockholm) to west (Helsingborg) between lake Roxen and Linköping. Route 36 goes northwest from Linköping towards Borensberg.
The railway (Stockholm-Malmö) passes through Linköping, south of Euroroute E4.
