Speed Rumbler
(a.k.a. Rush & Crash)

Capcom, 1986

Screen orientation: Vertical
Pinout: JAMMA
Sound: mono
Players: 1 or 2, taking turns
Buttons: 2 buttons (one to shoot and one to jump out of car (or roll when on foot))
DIP switch settings and pinout

You control a car with which you have to drive to the level exit while shooting other cars, enemy soldiers and other adversaries. On every level there are a lot of small prisons that you can shoot or run over, thus freeing a prisoner. By picking up the prisoners you can gain better driving ability, better firepower, more energy and points. If the car's energy runs out the car will explode. If you manage to escape before this happens you may travel on foot and try to stay alive until you can enter another car. The action is viewed from above and while the exit is positioned at the top of the level the screen can still scroll in all directions. You have 24 minutes to complete all the 6 levels, and finishing a level quickly gives you a lot of extra points.

PELLE'S COMMENT:
I think this game is very good! It doesn't seem to be as famous as some of the other early Capcom games such as Commando and Ghosts'n'Goblins, which I think is a shame. The game is original and very fun to play.
