It seems that damage^2 is not a good way to compute repair time. It will foster a many small pits strategy which is not realistic. I have decided upon 15seconds *damage/1000. This seems to allow small repairs without to much loss of time. There is definitely some strategy to repairing. You never know when a huge collision will take you out, on the other hand, keeping a low damage total might mean many pit stops. My attempt at having everyone only pit in the 0th segment was a little funny, i'll have to experiment with it some more. ---ralph ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 6 Aug 1997 12:56:07 +0200 From: "Krzysztof Langner" To: "Rars mailing list" Subject: Windows95 version of rars Message-Id: <199708061056.MAA04552@lysander.lysator.liu.se> Content-Type: multipart/alternative; boundary="----=_NextPart_000_0000_01BCA268.1AEBF0E0" This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ------=_NextPart_000_0000_01BCA268.1AEBF0E0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Hi, I prepared Windows95 version of rars (it is based in vcrars).
