Ok. I'm still thinking about how to calculate how much to steer, because it is not a linear function, but I hope to get it to work soon. :) BTW, does the limit for midgets include header files? :) :)As far as I know it did not include the body of any standard header file. :)Currently we have no competition going that limits the car size. The :)midgets are history ( at least for some time :-) :)Actually, I think it would be interesting to try RARS Summer Series, where :)everybody competes for car efficiency - SPEED/BYTE. Then your 50-100 byte :)car will easily outrun Bulle (100k). I like the idea of midgets. At first I thought it sounded hard, because you only get 450 bytes, but then I realized that all it is are a bunch of if's and else's. That would be cool. that would produce some interesting results, because even if you made an unbeatably fast car, you could lose it because of your size. db | Daniel Brooks -- Email: d-brooks@usa.net | | PGP key fingerprint - DB 10 E4 99 4C B5 86 11 3B 5A BC 56 34 37 57 18 | ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 21 Apr 1997 11:17:39 +0300 (EET DST) From: Maido Remm To: rars@lysator.liu.se Subject: Midgets Message-Id: <199704210817.LAA16363@ebc.ee> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit > > Actually, I think it would be interesting to try RARS Summer Series, where > everybody competes for car efficiency - SPEED/BYTE. If we would use SPEED/ LOG(BYTE), this might work, otherwise we get only 100 byte minimal bots with predefined speed and simplest alpha calculation. Another idea is to use (YOUR SPEED - SPEED of the slowest car) / log(bytes) This would stimulate writing quicker cars - slowest car wouldn't win. I think imola.trk was not working. I just put a corrected version in /incoming : vc_r0643.zip. I'll not improve it anymore. I would prefer to use the future JavaRars ...
