Even though yours isn't, a slow car can do very : well in a high-damage race, so they're all worth entering. Sad but true - dont build your car too fast, or it will die lapping slower cars and eventually get killed halfway through the race. My car (Jas) has some code for collusion avoidiance, but since hitting a slower car once is often enough to finish off the faster car, there are many races I run here which are won by the fastest slow car which stays on the track. In fact, a car simply cannot (IMHO) avoid all collusions, some slower cars brake at completely nonsense locations, and change their lane rapidly. So dont try too hard ... ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 11 Apr 97 20:13 GMT From: jusa@darkstar.bb.bawue.de (Jürgen Sang) To: rars@lysator.liu.se Subject: Re: Simple collision avoidance Message-Id: Henning Klaskala (bm321465@muenchen.org) wrote: : You could try something like this to avoid collisions: : if (s.dead_ahead) result.vc = 0.9*s.v; Now if only dead_ahead would take lane changes of other cars into account. But for a slow car it should do.
