Move

The Move Action is how Heroes and Alien Units usually move around on the Mission Map. The Move Action consists of moving the acting unit up to as many steps as the Movement Value on the Hero Dial Board (for Heroes) or on the Alien Profile card (for Alien Units).

Movement is made by moving the unit one step at a time, each moving the Hero or Alien Unit from one Square to an Adjacent Square on the Mission Map. If at any time the moving unit steps into the Overwatch attack range of any Model in Overwatch mode, the Movement is suspended, and the Overwatch Attack happens. Then, if the target survived, it may resume moving if it hasn't taken its maximum number of steps yet.

Diagonal movement is allowed in open terrain, but it is not allowed to move diagonally corner a corner of Building or obstacle.

When a unit is in Close Combat, meaning standing Adjacent to a Model controlled by the opponent, moving away will give the opponent a Free Attack, which interrupts the movement. As with Overwatch, if the moving unit survives the attack, it may resume moving if it hasn't already moved its maximum number of steps.
