Grand Piedra is the only larger boulder in the valley between
Confluencia and Camp Durri (Grand Piedra means "big stone"). You
really can't miss it since it is about 4 meters high in the middle of the
valley. It gives some shelter for sunlight, but less for rain
(unless there is heavy winds to go with it).
Personal experience
We stopped at Grand Piedra in both directions; Going up we had an
ordinary break, and this is where we met the first three people who had
been to the summit, it really gave us a kick! Going down we stayed here
to await Micke and Martin who lagged behind. Bojan started cooking some
hot drinks which was really welcome in the cold and wet.
