I was listening to a live show of Mojave 3 from 96' and I heard a really
awesome song called One More Time. Does anyone know if this was ever
released as a b-side or on a comp. or something. If it's a cover, does
anyone know who wrote it. Been listening to a lot of mojave lately and
makes me wish that they would reform for a retro tour and do all the mojave
songs in a slowdive format (in our dreams). I think what spawned this idea
was the song Between Us on the new single actually sounds a little like a
slowdive song, along with Mercy. But even if they don't do it, I think it
would be a cool idea for a tribute album after they're long gone.

Yeah it is kind of steep but considering I searched every online record
store I know of and every used store I know, and still couldn't find it, I
consider myself pretty lucky. Sure I would've liked to pay less for it, but
hey this is the ONLY time I came across it and I wasn't gonna let it sit
there while I pondered my (measly) bank account. Some things you just just
have to pay top dollar for and I must say this was worth it.

Don't laugh - I bought my copy of Pygmalion for $45.00 Canadian!!!! This
of course before I had internet service. I also payed $40.00 Canadian for
the import copy of Souvlaki, and $30.00 for the domestic - mind you, the
domestic is signed by Rachel and Neil -

Against Perfection stands as one of the greatest albums I have in my
collection - unfortunately the follow up to that LP is just horrible - I
forget what its called (Kangaroo Court???) Don't bother - just be happy
with that masterpiece because theres not really much else.

actually, the second Adorable album is pretty good. i started listening to
it again recently and it has much more of a Against Perfection feel than i
remembered. its a much better followup than going blank again was to
nowhere. however, against perfection is one of the best albums ever
made... and definitely pick up the orginal sunshine smile e.p.
especially if you don't have the american version of against
perfection (which has 2/3 of the e.p. songs added)-gage

The Lucksmiths, Solarium, and #poundsign# are joining forces to bring you a
show with some real variety to keep you interested.
The Lucksmiths:
Australian indiepop janglers on Drive-In Records, touring the states for
the first time. They've got a sense of humor and will give you your fix of
three-minute popsong jollies. They come from the land down under.
Solarium:
Also on Drive-In, it's a local San Francisco band playing songs that run
from 10-minute long spacey droney type stuff to shorter melodic stuff with
a side helping of effects pedals and maybe even (shock horror!) some
electronic beats.
#poundsign#:
Keyboard-ish tunes kinda remeniscent of the 80's, but with an obviously
modern touch. They can be fun or slightly poignant, depending on the song.
They're from San Francisco too.
It's on a Monday night but don't let a silly thing like that stop you from
checking this one out - should be fun. You can read all about it at the

I paid $35 canadian for Pygmalion (perhaps the best $35 i've ever
spent?). I've noticed alot of people have trouble finding it but it
seems to get regularly stocked way out here in east coast Canada. It's
dissapeared and reappeared at least 3 times over the past 6 months.
There's also a copy of the import souvlaki, but no matter how hard i
stare at it i still don't think it's the double cd version :~

reccomend it (as long as you are over 18) Picture the tindersticks,
drunk, horny, in a strip club and that's what Arab Strap sound like.
