[snip] are these bands all really ambient music? What is your definition of ambient music? or is it a way for you to prove how many bands you've ever heard of? ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 25 Jan 1998 20:38:28 -0800 From: "Tim Warner" Subject: Re: 7% solution I just got it in the mail saturday, and it's great! they remind me of SIANspheric a bit, but without as much of a "Storm in Heaven" bent. I really like it, and it's pretty cool to have the bonus disc thrown in there...my buddy claimed it immediately! 7% Solution is worth finding!!! Another band you might like if you're into Slowdive is Seely. They're sort of a Slowdive/Stereolab mix, I'd say, if it were possible. I thought I heard some people talking about it once, but I'm still not sure if there really is anything called ambient music. There doesn't seem to be a section for ambient music at Walmart! > or is it a way for you to prove how many bands you've ever heard of? I'm not really sure if most of the bands I listed actually exist. Many of these band names came from hours and hours of playing Scrabble. -Gary H- ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 26 Jan 1998 15:12:27 -0500 (EST) From: mike p Subject: RE: ambient for slowdive fans hi i only post this cos i think the recomendations already made are bad and meandering. if you like slowdive and want to hear some "ambient" ish stuff try: windy and carl bowery electric ecestacy of st. teresa _free d_ (good luck finding it) seefeel aphex twin selected ambient works (I or II) mike ------------------------------ End of Avalyn Digest Vol.98 #11 ********************************
