Hey all Avalyners, the list is now automated, and no longer moderated. This means that all the administrative requests (subscribe, unsubscribe, info/help etc.) is handled by the mailserver (and I get about 2 hours / day more to spend on other things). The next message is the new "Welcome to.." message, please save it and read it - it contains vital information about the list. There are also a couple of additional new things which comes with the move - I'll post information about those during next week. The next digest you will receive will be Volume 97, Issue #01. //Erik - keeping his fingers crossed... ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 6 Nov 1997 11:07:16 -0800 From: emo-lorrene@webtv.net (emo-lorrene chialves) Subject: Blueshift Signal hello folks! anyone out there ever hear of a band called Blueshift Signal? I have only ever heard two tracks by them , however, these were two very intriguing tracks! One had been an instrumental that sounded very much like Slowdive (along the lines of Eric's Song)...I would love to know what they have released! Are they an American band? UK? have they split up? I actually wrote in to their PO Box earlier this year but never got a word back! I would even be keen on just getting dubs of their material. Hope someone out there can help me out ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 6 Nov 1997 20:18:49 +0100 (MET) From: Erik Soderstrom Subject: Welcome to the *new* Avalyn Digest mailing list! ======================================================================== 1997:11:06 Welcome to the ### ## ## ## ## ## ##### ## ## ## ##### ## ## ## ## ## ## ## ## ## ## ## ####### ## ## ## ## ## ## ## ## ## ## ## ### ### ## ## ### ## ## ### Digest Mailing List ======================================================================== The Slowdive & Mojave 3 Digest mailing list Avalyn - The Slowdive & Mojave 3 mailing list was made to cater for the discussions about the (no longer active) Creation band Slowdive and the (active) 4AD band Mojave 3 from the UK, as well as being a distribution list for the Internet Slowdive and Mojave 3 Discographies. Hope someone out there can help me out i've got their album "seven natural scenes," which came out (i believe) on ethereal records. they also have a song or two on a (heavenly voices?), though i haven't heard these. if i remember correctly, they are out of boston, and, as i just found references to them on things like the boston underground band archive, i would guess that they are still around. soundwise, there are sort of two distinct sounds on this album: instrumental shoe gazy stuff and songs with vocals that are more in the direction of the ocean blue. i could see slowdive comparisons. a good album, all around. i remember that one of the small mailorder services was still carrying this maybe a year ago, so you might still find it. hope this helps. - drew ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 06 Nov 1997 13:30:06 +0000 From: Mitch Subject: Re: Blueshift Signal At 11:07 AM 11/6/97 -0800, you wrote: > hello folks! anyone out there ever hear of a band called Blueshift >Signal? We are out of stock on their disc and I'm pretty sure it is out of print. They released a 3 song CDep which I think is much better than the full length, sometime earlier this year. They are from Providence, RI and have changed PO Boxes since SNS was released ..... I'll try and post the new address. Just the facts Maam.
