thouse who are, I think Motorpsycho is going to have a gig on 11.5 for Viva

P3 reported this morning that there will be a Tra"stockfestivalen in
Skellefteaa this summer. The festival organisers managed to win over
the police in the county court (la"nskammarra"tten) over the use of
Nordanaa. There'll only be two stages this time, though.
17-18 July. Be there. Play there.

3. The pop-comand BET BET will participate this summer in three international festivals in Sweden, France, Poland. And at the end of may the great Latvian touring with hard rock group LIVI begins.
4. MELNA PRINCESE / " Black Princess" have a members change and well known singer Ivo Fomins start working together with their.
5. And studio recording session start musicians community LIEPAJAS BRALI ("Brothers of Liepaja") where includes many well known artists. The first album comes out soon.

1. At the end of may the new songs compilation album for the Latvians folk celebration: Midsummer Marathon day (Jaanji - in 24th june) follows and there includes traditional songs in "pop/folk" versions.
2. The new remixies are made to old ZODIAC's songs what we could listen in the early 80'ties in "Disco Alliance" album. The album was selled in former USSR teritory in 20(!!!) million copies!!! Some songs remixed by dance group PAMATINSTINKTS ("basic instincts").
3. And the new dance pop compilation album follows at the end of may by sub-label "Aktiv" (under "Microphone Records").
4. In the 17th may great music festival follows "Do You Hear me?". All incomes from the event moves to help to childrens hospital in Riga. We awaited the participants will be: PRĀTA VETRA, Marhils, JAUNS MENESS, LABVELIGAIS TIPS, pop man Arnis Mednis, OPUS PRO, REBEL, LIEPĀJA BRALI, HERLIS, female singer Agnese, THE SATELLITES, female singer Ieva Akuratere, rock'n'roll man Pits Andersons etc.
5. And the label "Galitis G" have a plan to release another new dance music compilation, where we can look for groups PAMATINSTINKTS, MIXERI & Linda, 5th ShLAKA, DJ Beat, DIVI ("Two"), Dina etc. new songs.

and it's 6 days before the tour starts, so it must be some kind of warm-up

Exactly my thoughts - but with six days between the Riga and Helsinki gigs,
I'm sure they'll have at least one more gig (if not two) somewhere too.
I asked Raitis to post anything he might find out (as you said, the date
isn't listed anywhere else, so it might just be a "secret gig").

I just heard a disturbing rumor - Candysuck is breaking up?
The rumor said one of their very last gigs will be at the
Granslosa Festival in Stockholm June 6th (and then they
play at the Mera Hitlatar festival in Handen on June 7th).
Does anyone have information on this?

Subject: Something out of topic. Eurovision Song Contest!
Hallo guys!
I have notised something interesting about Scandinavia. (Sure, you
have, too) Have you seen the Scandinavian votes (expecially the
Swedish votes). All the Scandinavians have voted the Scandinavians.
But there is something more! I'm really thinking that Estonia is
becoming part of Scandinavia. It gave good votes to Sweden and
FINLAND. Estonia and Finland are almost sisters!
Are those Scandinavian singers famous there?
I have never heard of them.
This year the Swedish song and the Norwegian one were quite good. The
Finnish was strange, but also good.
I hope for something better next year!

Ten minutes ago musikjournalen announced that there will be no Lollipop
festival this summer. More info tonight, in the first hour of
musikjournalen.
Can't wait to hear the reason. My guess is that Ema-telstar have backed off
thinking it won't generate a profit.

What?! This isn't April 1st... I better listen to the net broadcast right
away, or I'll think you're pulling my leg all afternoon! Aah, and they
didn't say anything there (though that was the morning music news) -
better listen to the radio tonight then. EMA should have sent out a press
release by now though...

Lollipop takes a break
----------------------
The Lollipop management has decided to take a break from arranging
festivals this year, and instead put all their efforts behind
the Lollipop festival in 1999.
The reasons are several; First and foremost, the fees foreign
artists and bands have demanded have gone through the roof
and the time scheduled for rearranging the festival program
is just not enough. The costs behind the setup at the new
festival location in Agesta have also risen together with
the detail planning.
The Lollipop festival is built on a complete program, and has
been for several years. When this can not be done, it is the
festival management's responsibility to move the focus, on to
next year instead.
Previously bought tickets are refunded at the regular outlets.
