The one facet balances against the other so that there is strongly differing critical opinions on her work. The works that I've read ("Alyx", "And Chaos Died" & "The Zanzibar Cat") were both provocative & extremely well written, if a bit strident at times. People interested in feminist writing in general should check out some of her non-SF critical essays (many are found in the books: "How to Supress Women's Writings" [1983] & "Magic Mommas, Trembling Sisters, Puritans and Perverts: Feminist Essays [1985]).
