From archive (archive) Subject: Author Lists: Italo Calvino From: JWenn.ESAE@XEROX.COM Date: 9 Oct 89 10:36:28 GMT The one Calvino book I've read was Cosmicomics. It was an entertaining collection of Scientific Fables. Each of the stories was narrated by the immortal Qfwfq who relates a story about some scientific principle (The-Big-Bang: on how crowded it was back then, Continous-Creation: Playing billiards with the spontaneously created hydrogen atoms, and the like). The wry tone is quuite similar to Douglas Adam's "Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy". Unfortunately, Calvino are hard to find. Other books of his that hav been recommended that I'm still looking for are "T-Zero" & "If on a Winter's Night a Traveler". [C] == Short Story Collection. [S] == Scholarly aka == Also known by this other title. /John arpa: JWenn.ESAE@Xerox.com ---------------------------------------------------------------- Calvino, Italo [Italy, 11/15/1923-9/19/1985] Cosmicomics [1965:1968] [C] T-Zero [1967:1969] [C] [aka "Time and the Hunter"] The Watcher and Other Stories [1965:1971] [C] Invisible Cities [1972:1974] The Castle of Crossed Destinies [1973:1976] [C] The Baron in the Trees [1957:1977] The Non-existent Knight & The Cloven Viscount [1956,1957:1977] Our Ancestors [1960:1980] [C] If on a Winter's Night a Traveler [1979:1981] Italian Folk Tales [:1981] [C] Mr. Palomar [1983:1985] [C] The Uses of Literature [:1986] [S] Under the Jaguar Sun [1986:1988] [C]
