2.3.8 SANA - The Sámi Association of North America

SANA was formed on 10 April 1994 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA.

The purpose of SANA is to create a strong Sámi presence and an understanding of the Sámi people and Sámi culture in North America. Membership includes a subscription to the North American Sámi Journal, which will continue to function as the official organ of communication for the group.

SANA encompasses both the United States and Canada. It has recently been given permanent observer status at the Sámi Governing Council.
