IBM 6091 19"
Color monitor

This page is under construction

The IBM 6091 19" color monitor is an old workstation monitor that could be made working for a PC with a nice graphic card. The biggest problem with the monitor is that it won't work in text-mode, like in setup and DOS.

I use a S3 Vision 864 graphic card, but the information found here should work on several other graphic cards.

You could also look at Jonas Svenssons page about the monitor.

Linux

I use the following modelines with linux XFree:
(the first two lines will work fine with 16 bitplanes)

Windows 95

The problem in Windows 95 is that Windows doesn't have the ability to adjust enough parameters for the graphic card. For now i have managed to get it to work in 1280x1024 in 60 Hz and 1024x768 in 75 Hz.

With the S3 card you need the latest graphic driver (v2.0.2.2 or higher), after that it will work in 1024x768. To get it to work in 1280x1024 you need to change the horisontal sync, this wasn't easy to do but my friend Per Lindh wrote this program that will fix the problem. Put it in the startup-folder, you may also add a hotkey to the program since it will stop working occasionally.
