The Work

Pieces en Trio Pour les Flutes, Violon, & Dessus de Viole by Marin Marais consist of 6 suites. It was printed in Paris in 1692. The sources I have used are facsimiles of a copy preserved at Bibliothèque Nationale de Paris.

This Edition

I have always tried to be as close to the original as possible. Editorial changes have been put above the staffs, or within parenthesis. Slashed figures in the continuo have been replaced with their flat/natural or sharp equivalents. All accidentals, both in continuo and staffs, have been converted to modern standard. French violin clef has been converted to normal violin clef. The score comes in two versions, one with the original clefs in the basso, and one with only bass and treble clef.
