The Solamnian Cavalry is a layman guild open to Knights of Solamnia of the rank
of Lord (or Lady) Knight and above. It is the only layman guild which knights
may choose, but joining is optional.

The cavalry's horses are well trained, and will fight back if attacked. They
are very tough, and usually do not fall to anything smaller than dragons (some
of whom, unfortunately, think horses make a good snack). If not engaged itself,
the horse will contribute an occasional attack in support of its rider. If a
mount is attacked, the rider may choose to manuever the horse in such a way as
to force the attacker to fight them, rather than their horse.

Some knights belong to households which have their own family coat of arms, and
those that do may obtain barding in their house colours.
