These pictures show different places in the center of Melbourne. They were originally taken for a project at school (A web based tourist guide) but I figured that they could have a place in my private gallery as well. Some of the shots are a bit booring, due to the fact that the project deadline forced me to shoot them in bad weather and bad light. Anyway, feel free to mail me any comments about the pictures.

This portal is the gate to the Melbourne Chinatown. Chinatown is full of nice chinese/japanese/vietnamese/whatever restaurants and shops, in all price categories.

The amazing crown casino is beautifully situated on the southern side of the Yarra River.

Closed, Queen Victoria Market, Victoria Street, Melbourne
The Queen Victoria Market is normally a vibrant marketplace with all possible kinds of merchandise. To my disappointment, it was closed 3 days in a row when I had planned to shoot it - so the picture displays an empty market.

QVM Food Court, Queen Victoria Market, Victoria Street, Melbourne
On market open days, the QVM food court is an excellent place to try food from different countries around the world. This day, however, it was closed and we had to go to McDonalds (Hungry Jacks (ie Burger King) was closed due to the gas crisis).

The market has also a lot of small shops specialising in a variety of things.

This is the main building of RMIT from the students point of view. It houses the student union, bookshop, cafeteria and RMIT clubs and societies.
