geographical background

Österäng, where I come from, is a very small place. Just a few houses around a crossing. There are no shops, but through some kind of miracle the train stops here. This makes it possible to get to Hallsberg and from there to Stockholm, or perhaps Linköping.

The nearest larger place to Österäng is Götene. It is populated by narrow-minded people called citizens of Götene. Around 13 500 people lives in and around Götene. The only important thing in the area is a 300 m hill called Kinnekulle, which even some foreign tourists are familiar with. From Österäng there is a 18 km trip to Götene, where I went to school at the ugliest school in the world, Fornängsskolan.

Some twenty km west is the town Lidköping and 25 km east is Mariestad. I went to high school in Mariestad at a school called Vadsbogymnasiet. A place where you got soaking wet when it rained.

This map shows the middle part of Sweden. I have marked Linköping, where I live now, and Österäng, where I come from.
