This is the homepage of FrexxWare programs. Currently there are two different programs in the pipes, namely FrexxEd (texteditor) and FPL (Frexx Programming Language), a C like interpreting language, used by FrexxEd and some other software.
So, what is FrexxEd and FPL? FrexxEd is a highly configurable text editor for the Amiga. It features many nice functions, like folding, very good search and replace as well as being very easy to configure for your personal needs. With the help of FPL scripts you can add different modes like in Emacs, add project support and use CHelp, FetchRef etc for looking up stuff in includes and autodocs.
Here's a little info on what's new in the v2.0 that has just been released:
Multi window support. Now one copy of FrexxEd can have multiple windows with either one or more views in each window.
Syntax highlighting. Now you can specify special keywords that should have a different colour/style.
FPL compiler. Now you can compile your FPL programs which will result in a faster loading/execution of FPL scripts.
Dock icons. Now you can have a row of dock icons in a FrexxEd window with shortcuts for different commands. So what is this FPL stuff? It's an interpreting language pretty much like C, but with an additonal string type, coded by Daniel Stenberg. It's used to make scripts for FrexxEd and other programs. If you know C you'll have no problems making scripts for FrexxEd.
Other programs that use FPL is FrexxLink (a BBS program mainly built around FPL for OS/2, coded by Björn Stenberg (yes, that's Daniels brother)) and also Reccoon, a BBS system for the Amiga coded by Niclas Emdelius and now Henric Andersson
