Scientology vs. Linköping University

In the scanned files referenced below, you will find various correspondence between Linköping University and Scientology representatives concerning certain files that students at the university made available on the World Wide Web.

I place these pages on the web, because they document one of the first major cases here at Linköping University were freedom of speech and the WWW is discussed.

My request for these documents (in accordance with the second chapter of SFS 1949:105, part of the Swedish constitution) were sent on December 11, 1996. The documents arrived on December 16. Birgitta Arvidsson, the person at the university who handled this request, has assured me that I am free to publish these documents.

Critical Information

If you want to read more about the fight between Scientology and large parts of the Internet Community, one good starting point is Daniel Deimert's page (mostly concerned with the "Zenon case" in Sweden).

You may also want to read Russell Miller's biography of L. Ron Rubbard, titled Bare-faced Messiah - The True Story of L. Ron Hubbard and Margery Wakefield's The Road to Xenu. Both are available from The Secret Library of Scientology.

Scientology Speaks

When it comes to the view of the other side in this case, I have not found any official information on the web from the Scientologists regarding the matter. You may wish to look at http://www.scientology.org/, http://www.dianetics.org/ and http://www.lronhubbard.org/ to get their view of their organization and belief system.
