About network
The ethernet adapter Zonet 10Mbps 16-bit Ethernet PC Card (ZEN1010) works fine. Just have to remember to
install network from the options CD. There seems to be some DHCP-problem so I have to use a fixed IP#
for the Cassiopeia. Correction, DHCP seems to work if I enter a correct DNS-server and always run
MSIE before VNC.
About use
Currently I use it as a remote for my mp3-jukebox. The "jukebox" is plain PC running Linux. They are
connected by ethernet. Using VNC to get a virtual
desktop from the linux-box to the Cassiopeia. I did plan to use XMMS
as player but the screen on the Cassiopeia is lousy so I am using
cplay instead. Cplay is a plain command-line player. I
did finally find a B/W skin for xmms called XawMMS.
Now XMMS in VNC works fine once I thought of turning off the title scroll
(autoscroll_songname=FALSE in config-file). The VNCviewer chokes of overload otherwise.
