It's not beautiful. It's not cool. It's not fast. But... I will never sell it.
This was my first car, I bought it in -95. I used it for one year and since then it has been resting in a garage at my parents home. In summer 2001 a co-worker gave me twin SU carburettors and the car started to see a new life. I changed the carburettors and installed a k-cam during summer 2001. I took some pictures while I was doing that. I have also fixed a lot of minor problems since then and it's in a good condition now.
The car is a Volvo 142 Base modell from -74. It's now white but you can see the original color in the engine bay, it's awful. Maybe I will paint that part too in the future. Silver would be nice.
The engine is a B20A but the carburettors are twin SU from a B20B. The camshaft was changed to a k-cam.
The side mirrors and the wiper arms are from a Volvo 240, the front spoiler is from an early Volvo 740. When I took the pictures only one wiper was changed, thats why one is black and one is grey.
In May 2002 it has only been run for 180k km, thats not to bad.
The car has no computer, I have to fix that. Well, I want to measure a lot of things in and around the engine, like rpm, temperatures and pressures and I want a computer to do the samplings.
The exhaust system is quite bad so I will probably replace it all with a bigger and better. New shocks and a level 2-head will maybe find there way into the car also. But that has low priority.
Some pictures on the dirty parts.
