This is version 5.01 of the LaTeX Great Net Spellbook.

I have posted two different versions of this Book:
a 300dpi Postscript file and a collection of LaTeX
files for those who wish to LaTeX it on their own system.

Unfortunately, the files can not be currenty obtained by
anonymous ftp. I am working on getting a site running.
Please bear with me.

All the files have been compressed (using the
standard UNIX compress utility).

The Postscript file is approximately 2.2 Megabytes in
its uncompressed format - approximately 750 kB in
compressed format.

In order to have the complete LaTeX distribution to
build the Book on your own system, you should have
the following files:
	1.tex
	10.tex
	2.tex
	3.tex
	4.tex
	5.tex
	6.tex
	7.tex
	8.tex
	9.tex
	appendix.tex
	apx-abjuration.tex
	apx-air.tex
	apx-alteration.tex
	apx-conjuration.tex
	apx-divination.tex
	apx-earth.tex
	apx-enchantment.tex
	apx-evocation.tex
	apx-fire.tex
	apx-illusion.tex
	apx-necromancy.tex
	apx-water.tex
	apx-wild.tex
	cantrips.tex
	cover.tex
	forward.tex
	net-spellbook.tex
These total approximately 360 kB in compressed format
and 1 MB uncompressed. The above files should NOT be
concatenated, since LaTeX does all the work. All the
above files are found in "LaTeX_Net_Spellbook_V5.tar.Z"

LaTeX is available on many systems. It may not be in
your path, however. Ask your local systems administrator
if it is installed and how to access it.

To LaTeX the files you need only type
	"latex net-spellbook.tex"

You should type this command twice if you want a proper
table of contents.

Do not worry about any warning messages output about
underfull \hboxes or underfull \vboxes; the book comes
out looking fine anyhow.

NOTE THAT ONLY THE FILE net-spellbook.tex NEEDS TO BE
LaTeXED. IT WILL AUTOMATICALLY INCLUDE THE OTHER FILES.

ALSO NOTE:	THIS VERSION USES LaTeX2e.
IT WILL NOT WORK WITH LaTeX2.09

The cover.tex files uses circles and lines. Some
systems may not have the correct files to translate
the .dvi files into .ps files because of missing
graphic fonts. Don't not worry about a missing font
message when translating the .dvi file to .ps.
One of my systems simply leaves the graphics out.

If you're interested in modifying the spellbook, look
into buying the book "LaTeX" by Leslie Lamport. You
should find it at just about any campus bookstore. Also,
"The TeXBook" by Donald Knuth is the definitive manual
for TeX, the language that LaTeX is based on. The new
LaTeX2e standard is discussed in "The LaTeX Companion"
by Goossens, Mittlebach, and Samarin. These two should
be equally easy to fine.

I welcome all suggestion and corrections (especially
grammar) to the book. Note, however, that this is just
a pretty version of the Great Net Spellbook - I'm not
taking submissions or other activities related to the GNSB.
Talk to Boudewijn Wayers (wsbusr1@urc.tue.nl), as he is
the current Keeper of the Net Books.

I do not have time to e-mail everyone a copy. Please
try to obtain it from someone else. I have to graduate,
too, you know. IN EXTREMISE, you can ask for a copy,
but make sure you include your *complete* e-mail
pathname and how you want it sent or I'm going to ignore it.

Enjoy!!
