I recently purchased the 12" versions of "Slowdive," "Morningrise" and "Holding Our Breath" off of a friend who was clearing out his vinyl collection. I was told that these are the first three Slowdive releases ever! I am not saying that I don't believe him, but I just wanted to make sure. E-mail me privately if you know. Thanks. It just looks too good not to wear it (and I met my (though now ex-) girlfriend because of it at a Charlatans gig :-)). And the white "Slowdive" from 1991 isn't really wearable (?) these days. A new Slowdive t-shirt would make my day (or year if you want). Any design thoughts out there? "Mojave 3" on the front and "Slowdive" on the back perhaps? :-) //Erik (chief@lysator.liu.se) ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 26 Apr 1997 07:21:31 +0200 (MET DST) From: Erik Soderstrom Subject: Re: Lost Slowdive Songs? As far as I know they were a part of the Just For A Day album recordings, but never chosen when they selected what songs would go on the album in the end. So there's a slight chance that someone is sitting on the master tapes with these songs included. Though I would imagine that the only way of getting hold of them would be through Rachel. //Erik (chief@lysator.liu.se) ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 26 Apr 1997 04:48:17 -0400 (EDT) From: Maston@aol.com Subject: Re: slowdive b-sides There is already a Slowdive CD bootleg that has been marketed lately. It is basically Blue Day (all the singles tracks) with the missing songs. However, it does not include the material on the flexi and sells for the low, low price of only $28.00. Personally, I do not support the piracy of my favorite band, so I won't mention the person who is behind this project. Perhaps, but some of their material reminds me of early Aztec Camera. Then again, they're both scottish and both have covered a great song, "Dolphins" by Fred Neil (and I've never heard the original). The The covered the song as well on their 1990 ep 'shades of blue. Of the 3, Roddy Frame's (AC) version is my favorite. TCS are a good band that I'm sure people would enjoy. Their 3rd album was not released stateside so I don't know how their sound has changed. At the same time I wouldn't want to mislead people into thinking that their sound is similar to slowdive :-) >They are one of the most fulfilling bands of >the decade. I urge all of you.
