...which Loveliescrushing take to an extreme which, I think, makes it all
the more worthwhile. Even though Love Spirals Downwards are considerably
more "tame", in terms of noise-scapes, I think that if one is going to get
into that side of the muscial spectrum, then why not go to extremes (ie.
LLC)?? But, yea, it's all just a matter of opinion, at the end of the day.
i just feel that LLC wne tso much further than LSD did in terms of doing
something completely over the top making it all the more a musical
experience. What amazes me is that it was all done on 4 track equipment...
(LSD, as well, I think)...

Mojave 3 button badge and a `This country loves Majove 3` sticker....did
anyone else get one??

I feel the EXACT same way about them. I don't know how they sound live,
but I'm going to find out in a couple of weeks. If anyone is in the SF Bay
Area, they are playing with Bethany Curve (Very Slowdive-ish) at the Cactus
Club in San Jose on Wed., May 27th. If anyone needs directions or any
info, let me know. I live about 10 min. from the club.

we finally have a good shoegaze band to stalk in New York
city...Splinterworld! saw them at The Continental last night and i really
have to say that they have....talent!
Great effects, grat vocals, great guitars...wonderful melodies...and Wade
(you are on the Ride list, right?) says that was a bad show. well, that
"bad" show showed the strength of a band that has an array of songs that
range from the beautiful haziness of Slowdive to the great catchiness of
songs like Chelsea Girl.

rofl! when i first bought the autumns i had a problem with his vocals,
music was fine, but his vocals just sounded whiney at times...i got used
to them though...i don't even really remember anyone saying they were
upset that the autumns didn't have the exact same vocal treatment as
slowdive. And, despite having reservations about his voice, i do not wish
the autumns to sound like slowdive, i want them to sound like the autumns.
its possible, you know, to think that something is not perfect but quite
good. criticizing a band does not automatically mean one thinks they are
awful. and just because one says a band isn't as good as another, in
one's opinion, doesn't mean you think they wholeheartedly "suck." and why
the qualifications, anyway? liking one band better than another is ONLY
that, liking them better...it doesn't mean that they are objectively
better in any sense. you need to grow a tougher skin, buddy.

Ouch! and you want people to buy stuff from you!
everyone is out trying to prove what a great fan and open minded person
they are... Why not open your mind to the fact that some people think
Mojave 3's progression towards 3-chord country just plain sucks? Not
because they aren't slowdive anymore and not because they don't use pedals.
They can mature however they want, but I think it is a change for the
worse. That's my OPINION. It doesn't infringe on your right to like
whatever you like and it's not a personal attack on you. I don't like
their new stuff. Why does everyone seem to have such a problem with that?
I'm not asking them to remake Slowdive. I just don't like the new stuff!

BRILLIANT show... It was so good... Highly reccommended...

About the autumns, I would personally love to see them live, but they
never play around NYC. I've heard they're better live.
Though I didn't like their album when I first heard it, it grew on me. I know
that the vocals did kind of bother me at first, because it reminded
me of Roland from Tears for Fears. But I think when you can look
past all that and listen to it for the music, it's really emotional.

the CDs are at my house (i live with daniel). it is unfortunatly on hold
untill he gets back. we still have to do the covers. he gets back the
first week of june or so, so they should be done a week after that.
one of us will post when theres some progress.
