Is it out? Is it coming out soon? I want to know that too. I don't even know if the band is reading their e-mail or even worse, if their form-script sending the mail to them works ok. As there are several pictures missing and only one of the songs working okay on the site, I have a feeling no one is checking up on it (or the e-mail). :-( Anyone with more information? Been in contact with the band even? //Erik ----------------------------- Date: Tue, 18 Nov 1997 01:22:18 +0100 From: Erik Soderstrom Subject: Re: another strong endorsement of Planet, I'm Gone At 21:14 1997-11-16 -0600, you wrote: >One of the guys from Planet is/was on the droneon list. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! //Erik ----------------------------- Date: Tue, 18 Nov 1997 00:51:38 +0000 From: Andy McMillan Subject: the poop on P.I.G. Slowdive Listers, Hello. At long last I have decided to break the silence concerning my old group Planet, I'm Gone. As Brad said, the founding members dissolved the band back in May of this year. They have since reformed with a new name, personnel, and sound (*so* they claim) -- without me. It was kind of an ugly break-up and, yes, I will admit that I am a little bitter. That having been said, thank you all for your kind words both on this list and sent to the old page. I finally succeeded in getting ahold of my ex-bandmates just earlier this evening, as we had fallen completely out of touch, and here is their new url: "Kasper Hauser" at http://www.home.fuse.net/kasperhauser/index.html I haven't tried the page yet, so the address might not even work. He assured me that he has been trying to get his old internet service provider to take down the P.I.G. page, but they haven't gotten around to it. He claims that my replacement and their new drummer are more "rocking" and they now sound more like Swervedriver/"Isn't Anything-era" MBV than Slowdive. I'll have to try the new samples and see. The good news though, is that 16 copies of our 5 song cassette are still available. Despite what the page says, no CDs were ever made. If anybody is still interested just let me know. I will gladly send you one for 5 bucks to cover postage, etc. Just mail (cleverly concealed) cash or a check made out to "Andy McMillan" to the following address: Andy McMillan 425 Claranna Ave. #4 Dayton, OH 45419 thanks again for all the nice comments--it was great while it lasted, Andy P.S.--Hey, Viet, I've always wanted to hear some Sweet Trip... you wanna just swap tapes? Same goes for anybody else out there in a band. P.P.S.--I'm listening to American Analog Set "the fun of watching fireworks" as I type this. Just got it yesterday. What's everybody think of them? ----------------------------- Date: Tue, 18 Nov 1997 01:24:15 +0000 From: Andy McMillan Subject: oops! The web site has videos categorized alphabetically and also has a search engine so finding the video will be easy. There are also 3 versions the website offers: one is for 28.8 connections, another for 56k I believe, and one for t1/above connections. They differ in size and quality. I recommend viewing the largest video (3mb) because of it's excellent video/audio quality. Daniel Lee ----------------------------- End of Avalyn Digest Vol.97 #005 ********************************
