Trulsnews - a Motif based newsreader
I and a couple of friends have made a gui news-reader based on Motif.
It currently runs on (at least) Solaris 2 and Linux. It is written in c++
and compiles with g++.
The name used under the developent is truls-news, but this might change if
i get some time from school and other projects to clean up the source and
make compilation and installation a bit easier.
Here are some pictures:
Main window
This picture shows the main window that you use when reading news. Notice the
button with the arrow on the left, if you click on it the grouplist
dissapears so you have more space for the articlelist.

The guide
This shows a session in "The guide", which pops up the first time you run
the program. It helps you find interesting newsgroups.

Select the subject you are interested in.

Select the area you are interested in.

Select some of the newsgroups an push add to subscribe to them.
Newsgroups dialog
This shows the group-selection dialog, note how you can enter a string in
the search field and remove all groups not containing that string.

This is a list of all groups on the server, quite many.
Much more manageble now.
