In the book,

I found the original, unedited script for the award-winning Star Trek
episode, The City on the Edge of Forever.  Note, this is the script as was
sent by Harlan Ellison to Paramount, not the version as was filmed after
Gene Roddenberry's production alterations.

Note the changes that were made from this script to the version finally approved
by Gene Roddenberry.  In parts, I like Harlan's ideas better - in other parts, I
believe Gene's changes were a definite improvement.  However, I won't include
any spoilers here, so get a copy of it for yourselves.

This particular book is likely to be out of print, so look for it in a used
book shop.  By the way, this book has several other good plays in it - it is
worth more than the Star Trek episode!  However, if any of you cannot
find this book, or are too lazy to do so, I have typed the entire script
in for myself, and will e-mail it to any who ask.  (I won't post it as
it is far too long - and I've been told not to anyway.)  The file is a
uuencoded version of the ARChived text, and is about 60k long.  (The full
length is about 100k.)  E-mail me with a proper return address, and I'll
attempt to get it out to you.
