The Hugo winner is a wonderful mixture of mythology and hard SF. I also like "Psion", which reads like a good Andre Norton juvenile. The sequel "Catspaw" is much more mature. Lately she's been writing lots of movie novelizations; which, while they pay the bills, are hardly high art. [C] == Short Story Collection. [J] == The book is for juveniles (however you define them) [O] == Omnibus. Includes other books. /John arpa: JWenn.ESAE@Xerox.com ---------------------------------------------------------------- Vinge, Joan [Carol] D[ennison] [U.S.A., 4/2/1948- ] [Hugo 1978, 1981] [ex-wife of Vernor Vinge] The Snow Queen Cycle: The Snow Queen [1980] World's End [1984] Alien Blood [1988] [O] Psion [1982] Catspaw [1988] The Movie Novelizations: The Return of the Jedi Storybook [1983] [J] The Dune Storybook [1984] [J] Ladyhawke [1985] Return to Oz [1985] Santa Claus The Movie [1985] The Santa Claus Storybook [1985] [J] Mad Max III: Beyond Thunderdome [1985] Willow [1988] [J] [Wayland Drew did the "adult" novelization] Fireship [1978] [C] [aka "Fireship, and Mother and Child"] The Outcasts of Heaven Belt [1978] Eyes of Amber and Other Stories [1979] [C] Tarzan, King of Apes [1983] [J] Phoenix in the Ashes [1985] [C] ------------------------------------------------------------
