From archive (archive) Subject: Author Lists: Eric Frank Russell From: JWenn.ESAE@XEROX.COM Date: 1 Jan 89 08:38:36 GMT Eric Frank Russell has written some wonderful stuff (as well as some that just OK, but then one can't expect miracles). "And Then There Were None" is a classic tale of passive resistance. A lot of Russell's work is humorous. Not the fall down silly funny of Fredric Brown or Randall Garrett, nor the sharp bitting satire of William Tenn, but a warm chuckle. "The Best Of" is a good starting place for the Russell neopyte. (In fact, the entire "Best of" series published by Del Rey in the middle-late 70's is a great way of meeting the better authors of the 1940's and 1950's). /John arpa: JWenn.ESAE@Xerox.com ---------------------------------------------------------------- Russell, Eric Frank [U.K., 06/01/1905-1978] Sinister Barrier [1943] Dreadful Sanctuary [1951] Sentinels from Space [1953] Deep Space [1954] [C] [abridged as "Tales From Deep Space"] Men, Martians and Machines [1955] [C] Three to Conquer [1956] Wasp [1957] The Space Willies [1958] [aka "Next of Kin"] Six Worlds Yonder [1958] [C] Far Stars [1961] [C] Dark Tides [1962] [C] The Great Explosion [1962] The Mindwarpers [1965] [aka "With A Strange Device"] Somewhere a Voice [1965] [C] Like Nothing on Earth [1975] [C] The Best of Eric Frank Russell [1978] [C]
