From archive (archive) Subject: Author Lists: Michael Moorcock From: JWenn.ESAE@XEROX.COM Date: 25 Jan 89 02:35:11 GMT Nope, I'm sorry this list does not contain any of Michael Moorcock's songs or his short stories. It does contain one directly relevant anthology though (other authors writing with one of his characters). Most all of his works fit into this huge framework called the eternal champion cycle. For bibliographers, he has this nasty habit of revising editions without warning, and having an interlocking cast of characters that make the relationship between books impossible to simply show. I rather like him, his Sword & Sorcery particularly (the first 5 series listed). I never could get into the Jerry Cornelius stories, that particular prose style always sets my teeth on edge. I'm reposting it now as a follow-up to John Wenn's list. This list is made up of books that I have actually seen or gotten multiple verifications on. It includes new information that John verified in his list and has some corrections to his. Before I get into the list of Moorcock's works I would like to thank Jim Boughton, Paul A. Ebersman and John Wenn for their help on this list. It wouldn't be anywhere near as complete without them. Anyway, here is the list with comments to follow. Moorcock is one of those authors who perpetually rewrites his works. This makes it difficult to assign a copywrite date to any of his material as it is constantly changing with each reissue. I have seperated the components of Elric at the End of Time and The Opium General collections into their seperate pieces. I would have done the same for the other two collections, but I don't have the Time Dwellers yet and haven't had a chance to read Moorcock's book of Martyrs. If anyone has any comments, questions or corrections feel free to e-mail. Nick Sauer
