It was later filmed as "Colossus: The Forbin Project". The film is a credible adaption of the book. Both versions tell the story of a super-computer that goes from control of Western nuclear defenses to taking control of the world. It's a logically presented with an opressive atmosphere of things happening beyond human control. It's recommended, although my all time favorite story in the "computers taking over" genre is still Jack Williamson's "With Folded Hands" story & "The Humanoids" novel. aka == Also known by this other title. /John arpa: JWenn.ESAE@Xerox.com ithinkwereallbozosonthisbus-ly ---------------------------------------------------------------- Jones, D[ennis] F[eltham] [U.K., 1915-4/1/1981] The Colossus Series: Colossus [1966] [filmed] The Fall of Colossus [1974] Colossus and the Crab [1977] Implosion [1967] Don't Pick the Flowers [1971] [aka "Denver is Missing"] The Floating Zombie [1975] Earth Has Been Found [1979] [aka "Xeno"]
