The Leper Colony of NannyMUD

The filthy disease of leprosy has reached the world of NannyMUD. No one knows how it first got there, but the rumours are that a sadistic wizard created it for his own pleasure, and the pleasure of seeing others suffer.

This particular wizard used powerful and wilful magic upon the creation of the disease, and the result was a slightly mutated version. The lepers are of course feared, hated and looked down on, but not only for their horrible affliction; along with the mutation, the lepers gained unbelievable powers. Powers they use when surviving, always fighting the world.

Normal people are afraid of leprosy, and thus they try to stay as far away as possible from the lepers - at least when they've become contagious. Being so despised, lepers tend to team up and help eachother to survive and as they team up, their powers grow even stronger.

To preserve the overall health in NannyMUD, some other wizards created an island that serves as a colony; the infamous Leper Colony. That's where the lepers dwell whilst not spreading their disease across the world.

To contract the disease - though no sane person would want to do that - you can ask a contagious leper to infect you. There is also a possibility to get a cure for the disease.

To reach the colony, you should walk south to the south coast, make a turn to the west for a while and then south once more. Somewhere in the swamp is a ferry that will take you to the colony.

Even though lepers stay together as a close knit family, they are constantly fighting internally. Their highest title, a highly prestigious one, the Leper Messiah, is fought over day and night.

To become Leper Messiah you first have to reach potential Leper Messiah. After that, you fight among the other potential Leper Messiahs, and the one with the most prestige will receive the title.
