The Brotherhood of the Heart

The Brotherhood of the Heart is an Club of Assassins. It is available only to the finest of killers, the Paragons.

The history of the Brotherhood

Not much is known about the history of this club, besides the fact that it is an extremly secretive and old club. It was founded sometime in the first age, but has for long periods of time vanished from the history books. The reason is probably either internal disputes or that the club wanted to stay as hidden as possible. Afterall assassinations of powerful and influentional people will often lead to some sort of revenge.

In the beginning of this age, the Brotherhood appears for the first time to have established such a strong power base that they no longer must hide. Therefore when stealth no longer was needed, they built a haven; The Dark Fortress.

The fortress can be found somewhere in the trolls' forest, not far from the pub, The Maimed Dwarf. Today all we know of the Brotherhood for sure is that they attract only the best assassins and no one dares to mount the campaign it would take to uproot them.

The goals of the Brotherhood

The Brotherhood of the Heart is said to have only one goal, to provide the best and most honourable assassins for the highest bidder. If the Brotherhood has some hidden agenda then no one has ever lived to tell about it.

The laws of the Brotherhood

As far as any outsider has been able to understand the Brotherhood is a very strict club with a quick and harsh justice. This is of course something an assassins club must have, otherwise the members might start to butcher each other.
Since the Brotherhood is such a secretive order, not much about their rules are known. We know only that the contract itself is holy. To fullfill it is a quest, that all members must fullfill. Failure is severly punnished. They are also extremly honourable, and if a contract is not fullfilled in time, they will refund your money. One can also gather that either the members are kept in the dark, both about who the other members are and anything related to the Brotherhood or they must have very effective and strict rules concerning giving out information to others.

During all the ages, this is all the knowledge that has been accumulated about the Brotherhood of the Heart.
Alas, know that if you meet a Brother, then that is probably the last thing you meet.
