<Commentary (YS):  <kegani> is a type of hairy crab, found in cold climates.
 Ramen is another of the famous foods.  You may even have seen "Sapporo
 Ichiban" instant ramen in grocery stores here in the U.S....  If Yoshizumi
 Wataru's talk about ikura, and other food hasn't been a clue, Hokkaido is a
 great place for food, especially seafood ^_^.>

            Shinsengumi deputy leader, and took part in the Battle of
            Hakodate*...  Because he was killed in battle here, a lot of
            Toshizou goods are sold at Goryoukaku Tower.

<*Commentary:  Hakodate was the site of the last resistance of the Shogun's
 partisans at the time of the Meiji Restoration.  The final surrender came
 on 27 June 1869.>
<Commentary (YS):  Shinsengumi was a group formed in Kyoto a little before the
 Restoration period.  Guys like Kondou Isami and Okita Soushi are the other
 famous members.  A very interesting group.  Anyway, because the Shinsengumi
 originally roamed the streets of Kyoto, and not Hokkaido, some readers might
 have been wondering why Hijikata Toshizou would be famous up there, and hence,
 this online interruption by Yoshizumi Wataru.>

<Commentary (JH):  From Funk & Wagnalls...  Trappists are an order of Roman
 Catholic monks.  In the 17th century there was a reform movement within the
 Cistercian monastic order in France.  Adherents of the Strict Observance came
 to be called "Trappists."  (Their formal name is Cistercians of the Strict
 Observance.)  The Trappists were united as an independent order in 1892.
 Daily life is devoted to prayer, reading, and manual work.  The monks eat,
 sleep, and work in absolute silence; they abstain from eating meat, fish,
 and eggs.  The largest Trappist monastery is the US abbey of Our Lady of
 Gethsemani in Kentucky.  In the early 1980s there were more than 60 Trappist
 monasteries worldwide, with about 3000 monks.  Nuns of the Strict Observance
 order are called Trappistines.>
