I'm very happy that there's the word by word translation on the Japanese text. After reading the text, I felt it was safe enough for a beginner like me in Japanese, I started buying the MB manga. My imaginations of the scenes you've all had described was as good as I saw. Thank You for providing such translations. It would be better if conversations comes first then the descriptions of the background or vice versa, depending on the situation in the story. Plus points for describing some of the unusual words and the Japanese food. The action words included makes me understand what the 'noise' is all about. Many Thanks and Please Keep those Translations coming! I'm going broke getting MB but it's a great story so far (Book 2)! I'd probably have to disagree with you here. Or, at least, say that MOST of the time I prefer the visual cues to come before the dialog. (Sometimes it works better the opposite way, and so I'll do those that way.) Again, though, I don't put a heckuva lotta effort into writing the visual cues though they still take about an hour per chapter to do. > Plus points for describing some of the unusual words and the Japanese food. Putting "commentary" and "translation notes" kinda grew out of doing the KOR manga scripts. I think I used to get feedback like "what the heck does THAT mean?" so we ended up having to make an effort to find out. 'Course, it's easy when you have translators like Paul and Yutaka who know it 'cause they lived it. > The action words included makes me understand what the 'noise' is all > about. An important element to manga, I feel. And again, this grew out of doing those KOR manga scripts. The "translate everything" mindset. > Many Thanks and Please Keep those Translations coming! Well, I have "draft" scripts out to about 2/3rds the way into vol 5 now, but they're in sore need of editing by Paul and Yutaka and the others. And yes, the story doesn't let up. > I'm going broke getting MB but it's a great story so far (Book 2)! And what would YOU like to see done NEXT? So much manga, so little time... Craig
