MA FOSTER'S SLOPPY JOES
A spicy and simple sloppy joe
This recipe comes from my wife's mom, who got it from her mother-in-law
in western New York state.
It's very easy to make and tastes a lot better than any mix.
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion,
- 1 cup catsup
- 2 Tbsp vinegar
- 2 Tbsp sugar
- 2 Tbsp mustard
- 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp celery seed
- salt and pepper,
In a frying pan, brown ground beef and onion.
Add remaining ingredients and cook slowly for 15 minutes or more.
Serve hot by scooping the mixture onto toasted buns.
5 minutes preparation, 15 minutes cooking.
approximate measurement OK.
